Titmus has said all along, she believes she needs a world record to beat Ledecky in the in Tokyo. This is probably the most likely outcome to be fair, but I can see more scope for Titmus getting her tactics a bit wrong in the , going out too fast and running out of gas. In the it needs Titmus to be off in some way for Ledecky to win, and it would be a shame for a talent like Titmus not to get a gold.
